Precautionary Measures | COVID-19

During this unsettling time, I’d like to assure you that providing a healthy environment for our residents and employees is our top priority at Steven Scott.

We continue to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, actively following guidance and recommendations from Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Apartment Association (NAA) while implementing policies geared to help stay ahead of the curve in transmission rates.

During this time, our site teams will be increasing cleaning protocol in high traffic areas. We are requesting our residents to use our resident portal for on-line rental payments and maintenance requests. We are also encouraging virtual and facetime tours for our prospects.  All Steven Scott senior communities have suspended in person leasing tours.

For communities that may become directly impacted, we have developed a protocol that we will implement.  Impacted properties might be those that are experiencing reduced employee and service/vendor levels.  Each response may be different based on how the property has been affected.  Initiatives implemented could include off-site remote communications from site staff, emergency only maintenance and a reduction of open amenity spaces.

In addition to the CDC-recommended cleaning standards, our employees have been provided CDC guidelines on the importance of proper handwashing techniques.  Best practices in virus prevention have also been shared, including the need to cover coughs and sneezes and most importantly to stay home if they are feeling sick.

Lastly, our associates have been asked to reconsider non-essential domestic and international business travel and report all personal travel to at-risk locations.  For those associates who may have been exposed or have returned from at-risk locations, we are implementing a strict 14-day self-quarantine policy.

We will continue to monitor developments, adjust where necessary and do our part to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.
