City Spotlight – Golden Valley and Robbinsdale
This week’s City Spotlight will highlight both Golden Valley and Robbinsdale. Both cities have a comfortable small-town feel but are a mere 5 miles outside of downtown Minneapolis. This makes them perfect for commuters as well as people who don’t want to live directly in the city center, but appreciate what the city has to offer.
Golden Valley is home to several top Minnesota corporations including Allianz Insurance, Tennant Company, Honeywell, Resideo, General Mills and our own NBC Kare 11 Studio. Getting in and out is a non-issue, as it is also direct, easy access to highways 394, 55, 169 and 100.
Looking for something to do? Neither neighborhood has a shortage. Both have many shops and restaurants including the brand-new Travail 3.0, Pig ate My Pizza Kitchen + Brewery, Lat 14 and Good Day Café.
In addition to eating like a king, there is a myriad of options to keep you and your little ones entertained. Brookview is so much more than just a golf course. They also offer the Backyard, an indoor play area for kids to burn off all their energy—perfect for winter– comedy shows, event spaces and a new restaurant called Three One Six to grab a cocktail after. Golden Valley is also home to everyone’s favorite bucket-list item: Game Show Battle Rooms. Now is your chance to play Family Feud with all your crazy family members.
Don’t want to be indoors? Both cities boast hundreds of acres of park and recreational spaces including Theodore Wirth Regional Park, where you can snowshoe, go snow tubing and hike all winter long, and Lakeview Terrace Park, which is right on the beautiful Crystal Lake. Both are great options all year round.
Once you’re finished seizing the day, plan to stop at the best breweries these cities have to offer: Under Pressure Brewing (Golden Valley) or Wicked Wort Brewing Company (Robbinsdale).
SSM Properties in Golden Valley and Robbinsdale are The Liberty Apartments and Townhomes and Bird Town Flats.
